It is important to note that therapy is not only beneficial for people who are struggling with a crisis. Therapy can help with self-awareness, personal growth and managing relationships. If there are areas of your life you wish to improve or understand more fully, please reach out and we can discuss this together.
This varies from person to person. Some people will feel content with 6-12 sessions whilst others uncover more deeply rooted issues they wish to explore further over time. We will review this regularly and decide whether continuing or stopping is best for you personally. Ultimately it will be your decision, and there is no minimum number of sessions required - you can stop at any time.
Ideally, and especially to begin with, weekly sessions are advised, however, I can also look to offer fortnightly sessions if I have the availability - we can discuss this during your free 30 minute introductory call.
No – I work with people struggling with various challenges. During your free 30 minute introductory session we will discuss your specific circumstances and think about whether I am the right therapist for you.
The common misconception is that alcohol and substance misuse problems result in somebody drinking or using all day every day. This isn't true. Often people can still function, however their use of substances impacts other areas of their life, such as work, relationships, physical and mental health. Addiction is not limited to drugs or alcohol. Coping behaviours can include misuse of porn, gambling, sex, food, shopping and other excessive behaviour. If you are wondering if you have a problem, start by asking yourself this - is your behaviour costing you more than money. If it is, perhaps it's worth exploring.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and I charge £70 for face to face or online counselling.
